Six or ten cups are set up in a triangle formation at either end of the table and filled with beer, no surprises so far!

With two teams, each member of the team attempts to throw a ping pong ball into your opponents cups on the other end of the table. If the ball lands in the cup you get to take the cup away from the opponent and drink the beer (possibly the best bit?). The first team who has taken away all of the cups from their opponent is the winner.

But then some rules are made to be broken so follow the rules or don’t follow the rules, it’s your game so you decide! And with beer pong growing in popularity everyday it seems the rules are constantly evolving so perhaps there’s no wrong way to play beer pong after all.

Some say beer pong first came about in the USA college fraternities in 1950’s/1960’s while others say it was the 1970’s. Either way beer pong started in US colleges and has now become a serious game in many London bars.

Beer pong bars in London are popping up everywhere and we are all familiar with those red cups and luckily for us, it’s not just from the movies now.

The World Series of Beer Pong started in 2006 and is one of the biggest beer tournaments in the USA. The players get to drink lots of free beer and the winners walk away with a cash prize, assuming they can still walk at that point!

Luckily we don’t have to go stateside anymore to get our fill of beer pong, just go to any beer pong bar in London and get your game on.
